Active Trans-Resveratrol
The Cornerstone of Bona Vita RX Age Defense Beverages

Bona Vita RX Age Defense Waters were developed to help the human body try to over come three of the most difficult times of the day. Each of our waters contains 100 mg of Active Trans-Resveratrol to fight the aging process.

When scientists first discovered Resveratrol in 2003, the findings set the world of medical and scientific research on fire. Resveratrol is a naturally occurring compound found in certain plants that help fend off attacks by pathogens such as fungi and bacteria. It is found in various levels of abundance in the Japanese knotweed, peanuts, mulberry fruit, blueberry fruit and the fermented skins of grapes. Resveratrol has been linked the famed "French Paradox," where the French, despite a diet high in fats and a high consumption wine, had a strikingly low rate of heart disease. Further research on Resveratrol has made it the most promising and talked about anti-aging compound to be discovered in recent years.

There has been numerous research studies done on Resveratrol and although the research is fairly new, all preliminary findings have been extremely positive and encouraging. Many research studies are currently being conducted on the effects of Resveratrol on diabetes, cardiovascular health, organ protection, obesity and many others. The most recent research involving humans was done at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine's Diabetes Clinical Trials Unit and the result was promising. This study found that resveratrol improved insulin resistance and lowered the post meal glucose levels on pre-diabetic subjects.

Recently there has been promising findings involving Resveratrol and cardiovascular health. Researchers at the University of Connecticut discovered that resveratrol significantly reduces damage done to the heart muscle during a heart attack. This was only a pre-clinical trial and did not involve humans but the findings were significant and clinical studies on humans are not far behind. This study did find that Resveratrol offered the heart cardio protection.

A recent study on animals at John Hopkins University shows that Resveratrol supplementation has protective effects on the brain during an ischemic stroke. The lead researcher believes that potentially regular supplementation may help the brain build resistance to such a stroke.

There is also exciting news on the effects of Resveratrol and obesity. Tests done on primates, lemurs in this study, show that Resveratrol supplementation decreased food intake and showed an increase in resting metabolic rate. In short, the lemurs decreased their body mass index and lost weight.

The groundbreaking discovery by Dr. David Sinclair of Harvard University's Paul F. Glenn Laboratories for the Biological Mechanisms of Aging at Harvard Medical School have shown that Resveratrol intake can mimic the benefits of a restricted calorie diet which is believed to "switch on" the SIRT1 gene. When the SIRT1 gene is active, it is believed to trigger a life extending survival mechanism in the body and has the potential to extend life.

There are also numerous studies being conducted on the effects of Resveratrol and Alzheimer's, Resveratrol and cancer prevention, Resveratrol and joint inflammation and many more.

Active Trans-Resveratrol is the most potent and promising anti-aging antioxidant available today.
